In July 2021, EPSRC hosted a webinar for the quantum technologies (QT) community to outline its strategy and priorities for the field.
Anke Davis and Katharine Dunn, Quantum Technologies Joint Heads of Programme, gave a presentation alongside Liam Blackwell, Deputy Director for Cross Council Programmes. This was followed by a Q&A session with members of the Quantum Technologies team.
Key messages from the webinar include the following:
- To maximise the benefit of transformative technologies, we have highly ambitious aims to support the future pipeline of new QT and further support translation and uptake of existing QT.
- To ensure that QT can connect with different scientific disciplines and increase uptake across different sectors and users, we have outlined our plans to evolve our portfolio through four themes: emerging quantum technologies, quantum for science users, engineering quantum technology systems, and exploiting the quantum computing advantage.
- To achieve our aims, we will continue to work closely with our NQTP partners, wider UKRI colleagues and the QT community.
